Come one, come all, to the EOAS Grad Council Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, Sept 16th, 2-3pm!

At the beginning of every school year, we meet as students interested in maintaining the lively grad student atmosphere in our department. Here, we volunteer to take on vacant positions, propose new activities, and work together to help EOAS be a welcoming space for all of our graduate students. We also schedule our forthcoming meetings for folks on GC, which are open to any graduate student in EOAS to attend regardless of if they have an official role or not.

Intramurals!

Earth Grads are back! 🌎☠️

A new Intramurals season is about to start, registration for leagues will open next week.

Who can participate: Intramural participation is open to UBC Point Grey Students, Faculty and Staff who have been assessed the Athletics & Recreation Fee. Priority will be given to EOAS Grad students, but postdocs are welcome too!

This season we will likely offer three teams. Two of them will be:

• Open Tier 3 Soccer - Saturdays or Sundays between 9:00AM – 11:00PM (generally in the afternoon-evening)

• Open Tier 3 Volleyball - Usually Sundays between 9:00AM – 11:00PM (generally from 5pm on)

Open = This category welcomes all individuals to participate regardless of gender, including those who identify as Two-Spirit, trans and non-binary.

Tier 3 = Any skill level is welcome. It’s mostly just fun!

Depending on interest, we might register a third team.

• Basketball: Thursdays between 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM (There's a chance it will be scheduled for Sundays or Wednesdays instead)

• Dodgeball: Mondays between 6:00PM – 11:00 PM

• Ultimate frisbee: Sundays 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Important: Commitment is not required, but please sign up for a team if you really are interested in playing.

In the past we struggled to meet the minimum number of players for each game, despite a much higher initial interest. This initial poll decides which teams we pay to register, so please bear this in mind!
