Overview (see attached for additional reading):
This is usually performed in pairs, with one person "asking" (and holding space for whatever arises) and the other "answering". The same question is asked over and over allowing the answer-er to go deeper and deeper into what may be going on for them. By hearing their own voice speaking, the answer-er often gains insight into what is alive for them. This process originally comes from the Diamond Heart practice (described further in the attachment).
Variations used in this group:
- Hot Seat 1: One person sits in the middle of the group and is successively "asked" the same question by all other members of the group. Often this is used to explore some inter-personal aspect. Answering without preparation (or censorship by thinking mind) can yield surprising results
- Hot Seat 2: One person sits in the middle of the group and successively "Asks" the same question of all other members of the group. Generates a lot of feedback for the person in the middle.
- All vs All: A specific rotation is used so each member of the group can pair with every other member of the group to perform exactly the same exercise. Use to see how the "Answers" change depending on who is doing the Asking.
