June 13, 2017 - Trees Planted in Reserve

Post date: Jun 13, 2017 8:58:32 PM

The Nature Reserve Committee is very pleased to announce that over 240 mature trees have been planted throughout the Nature Reserve and Arboretum/Environmental Learning Center. See the photographs below for the various varieties of trees planted. This project was made possible at no cost to the Township as part of the state’s "No Net Loss Program" to make up for the trees lost from the Garden State Parkway expansion. The completion of the project was made possible through coordinated efforts of Jen Heller, of the Planning Office of Vince Polistina and Associates, Michael Angerman of Angerman Landscaping and personnel from our very own Department of Public Works. We anticipate that these improvements will enhance the beauty and enjoyment of the EHT Nature Reserve Park for years to come. We are looking for Friends of the Park and volunteers to help maintain the trees to assure they thrive. Please contact us if you are interested.
