Death

Life is fragile, that we know.

In any instant we may depart,

To meet our creator go.

It is not bitter, is not tart,

This ever approaching death.

With every beat of a living heart,

With every mortal breath

Our time on earth is spent.

But we need not fear impending death,

For God His Son has sent

To rescue us from sin.

The suffering that for us was meant

Was taken on by Him.

This Son of God, he died for us

That we the vict’ry might win.

As we place in him our trust

The spirit soft assure

The grave cannot hold us bound

As we are risen pure.
