Matchplay 2026

The first round of the 2026 Matchplay has been completed. It was played over 2 events at Eagle Ridge (472) and The Dunes (A473) with the results provided below and bottom of page. 

Results

The results of the 32 matches played by 41 members have provided the top 23 players who move on to the next rounds.

The summary is:

• Seven players won more than 1 game and are the top seeds and go directly to Round 3. These seeded players are:

1 Rick Vargiu, 2 James Marinopoulos, 3 David Gamvrellis, 4 Bill Papapetrou, 5 Con Gamvrellis, 6 Dean Papadopoulos, & 7 Tom Karatzas

• The next 16 Players who won exactly 1 game move to Round 2 at Churchill Park (A475) on 3 May 2026. (See match ups below). The winners will move to Round 3 and play the seeded players above.

• The remaining 18 members are eliminated for this year!

To ensure we complete the 2026 Matchplay, all remaining rounds will be during this year's individual events:

• Round 1 - A472 Eagle Ridge (8-Feb-26) & A473 The Dunes (23-Mar-26) 

• Round 2 - A475 Churchill Park (3-May-26)

• Round 3 - A479 Waterford Valley (14-Jun-26)

• Quarter Finals - A480 Rosebud (19-Jul-26)

• Semi Finals - A483 Moonah Links (20-Sep-26)

• Grand Final - A487 Growling Frog (29-Nov-26)

Notice - If a member cannot attend the apprpriate event then they will forfeit.

Round 2

Round 2 was played at C476 Churchill Park (April 2026). The event was rain affected, but some games were completed and others were awarded to the  member in the lead. See summary results below:

Also advancing are James Marinopoulos & Andrew Kakouros due to dropouts. Tom Karatzas won on a tie breaker.

Matchplay 2025

Our final on the 11th of January will consist of:

Con Yianakos vs John Manolopoulos to crown our Matchplay Champion.
