FURTHER NOTE: NPC's are considered at Elan 0g, unless otherwise noted. Certain characters have far-reaching powers and abilities, and lay outside the game proper (in terms of player characterability). Just because -you- can never play these characters doesn't mean that they can't be useful to your character's goals.
Many NPC's offer missions, gear, sales, training, and (above all) further interactivity within the world of Dolan.
Go on and talk to one or two. It may not even hurt, in the long run.
