Anti-Plagiarism Tool: DrillBit
DMCE Central Library has purchased DrillBit Plagiarism Check Software. DrillBit has been selected for empanelment with AICTE NEAT 3.0 and by INFLIBNET Centre for all the Indian Universities under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. It is a Web-based software.
Who can benefit?
Members of DMCE
1. UG Students - Manuscript for conference/Journal. Project report for UG degree.
2. PG Students - Manuscript for conference/Journal. Dissertation report for PG degree.
3. Research Scholars/Faculty Members - Manuscript for conference/Journal, Ph.D. Thesis, Book/ Books Chapters.
Procedure:
To obtain a plagiarism report, please follow these guidelines
Meet the Librarian for detailed information -
1) The requester must have a member of DMCE (Faculty or Students) with a valid Identity Card.
2) A hard copy of a form for primary details is provided by the library
3) The manuscript/ research work must be submitted via the requester`s official DMCE e-mail ID
4) ) The email subject line should be: "Request for Plagiarism Report"
5) The email message must include:
- For Faculty/Staff: Title of the manuscript and faculty name. (For research work, mention the guide name with e-mail details if required.)
- For Research Scholar/Student: Title of the manuscript, student’s name, guide’s name with email details.
The document will be analyzed for plagiarism and a Similarity Report will be generated by DrillBit Software. Similarity Report will be mailed to the Guide / the Requester in two working days.
NOTE:
1) Incomplete requests will not be accepted.
2) Similarity Reports will be re-generated (after due corrections) depending on the need of the requester for max tow times after correction.

Plagiarism refers to the act of intellectual theft. In simple words, copying and using someone’s ideas and work as their own without referring to or crediting the source is Plagiarism. If you are taking credit for the work done by another author, then know that you are going to face ethical and legal consequences. Plagiarism indeed has tons of adverse effects, but before we list out some of them, we would like you to know that today Plagiarism exists in multiple forms. Plagiarism can take on a number of different forms. It does not just consist of copying but can also be an uncredited translation or the use of someone else’s ideas without referencing the author.
