How can I become a member of Library?

You need to visit library with your admission fee receipt and a recent photograph.

Do I need to pay for Library Membership?

No. Not at all .It is absolutely free; when you take admission in Institute you become member of library.

How many Books I can Issue at a time?

If you are a, PHD Student 5 books, PG student 4 books, UG Student 2 books at a time for seven days.

How long am I entitled to issue the book and can I renew it?

Students can borrow books for a period of 07 days. Borrowed books can be renewed twice or more depend on availability of books. Your renewal request will not be accepted if the book is heavily overdue or in demand by others.

Which are the books that can be issued to Library members?

You can issue books for home lending from Issue Section, but Reference and Rare Books are not issued.

How do I find a particular book in the Library?

To find a particular book you can use the OPAC on Intranet. You can check live status by clicking on details of searched entry. http://10.1.4.38/autolibwebopac/ Else you can contact the Books Circulation Desk.

What are the working hours for the Library?

The DMCE College Library remains open between 8.45 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on all working days. In the vacation period library timing change to 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Can I use the Library card of my friend on his/her behalf?

Nobody is allowed to borrow books from the Library on someone else’s card.

Can I return book of my friend issued on his name?

Yes, you can return your friends library book but cannot issue book behalf of him/her.

Where I can get Question Paper /Syllabus?

You can visit library website for soft copies or to the library for hard copies.

Can I copy Question papers from the Intranet?

Yes, you can.

I like to use pencil for notation, is this considered as damage?

Any form of marking or writing in a book, whether it is with pencil or pen, is not permitted. Folding of corners of book is also prohibited. Anyone vandalizing a book in this way is liable to be charged a fine to cover the cost of book and also can be banned from using Library.

Are the books arranged subject-wise in the Library?

Books are arranged on the shelf as per subject classified order (According to Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme).Guide charts are pasted on each rack for exact location of books.

What do I do if I lose a book?

You should inform circulation staff immediately and replace the latest edition of the same book. If the book is out of print or not available in the market, then you have to follow the instruction of the Librarian.

What do I do if the book I borrowed is damaged?

If the damage is minor, you have to pay binding charges else you have to replace it with the new one.

How can use library Reading room?

For accessing reading room you need to register, keep your bag at baggage’s counter and maintaining salience use reading room facility of library.

In case I have lost my Library card?

Loss of the Library card should be immediately reported to the Library membership/ registration desk. The duplicate card shall be issued on the adding fine of Rs. 50/-.

Does library have Book bank Scheme ?

Yes ,Library has Book bank scheme for SC/ST category student .

How can I apply for Book Bank Scheme ?

Visit our Library website to know about which books are available under " Book Bank ".

Download Application form from "Downloads " take print or visit library.

You can issue 3 books for semester .

What if I fail to return Books from book bank on time ?

Library fine is applicable to book bank and /or dismiss form the scheme for next SEM.

Can I use my Mobile in the Library?

Use of Mobile in the library should be balanced.Do not use it for calling or talking ,keep it on salience mode.For study purpose you can use your device .

Can I eat in the library ?

Eating is strictly prohibited in the library .

Does Library has subscription to E journals ?

Dmce library has subscribed "Science Direct "E journals database .

How can I access e journals ?

If you are in College campus you can access directly from any PC of college .

How can I access e journals at home or off campus ?
