Confliciting news about this place - It is stated the place called Muktinarayan Kshetram ( Mukti Kanth) on the Gawathi river is sacred sthalam. Kundaki as Salagramam. The view is that 60km on the river is Damodrakam which could be Salagramam.

Lower Ahobilam is the main temple. Malola Narasimhan is under the administration of Ahobila Mutt.
It is believed that lord Raman prayed for getting back sita devi.
It is also believed thtat Narasimhan came in the form of a hunter and wanted (Chandan Lakshmi), the goddess of this place, all the Narasimhan are very difficult to approach as the steps are very steep on a hill top and unsafe. There are many other tales about this holy place.
At present, the temple of Narasimhar and vasudevan built by Adishankar exist.
