I am a humble and ardent devotee of Lord Sri Krishna.
My grandparents hailed from a small village called Thuvaar in Pudukottai district in Tamil Nadu. The family title was Thuvar Bhashyam. My grandfather was a tax collector whose duty was to collect ‘Kisti’ from the landlords of that district and hand it over to the treasury of Pudukottai Maharaja. Later on some of the subjects of Maharaja of Pudukottai moved over to the kingdom of Tanjore Maharaja and my family was one among them. They lived in Kumbakonam and my grandfather attained HIS LOTUS feel there. My grandmother and my parents continued in Kumbakonam.
While in Kumbakonam, my grandmother & the children of the house used to go to the river Cauvery early morning for a dip. While doing so, all along the way they used to recite various Slokas in praise of the Lord. Many of our evenings were spent in ‘Aranamuthan’ temple. Thus the seed of devotion was sown at very early age of five.
When I was seven we moved to Bombay for livelihood. In Bombay also, the tradition of reciting Slokas in the morning and evening continued though secular education was imparted to us and we were asked to excel at it too. The devotion to Srikrishna which remained dormant for many decades had now surfaced.
The journey into the spiritual world continues!!
