In our Castle project we had to create a miniature castle that included different parts, and different modeling features. The parts that I made are a Keep, a rescue site, a turret, a motte, a window, a watchtower, a flag, a graveyard, and crenelated walls. The modeling features that i used are rectangular and Circular patterns, extrusions, fillets and chamfers, along with others. We also had to research on castles before we created our part, we put two pictures of castles into our notebooks.
When we did this project we learned a lot about different modeling tools we can use in inventor. We learned about fillet and chamfer, which are used for curving or finishing an edge respectively. We used circular pattern to make crenelated walls, a circular pattern repeats a feature along a circle, or around a center point. We also used rectangular patter to make windows, a rectangular pattern makes a feature along one or two straight paths. We used the rotate tool to make the point of our castle, the rotate tool is used to rotate a sketch around an axis to make a solid feature. We used the loft too, to make the motte, the loft tool is used to connect two sketches on different planes. I liked how we were able to make our castle specialized to how we would want them to look like. We had to make some features, but after we finish those we can make whatever other features we would want to. And even the features that we had to make could look like how we wanted them too.
