There are a few things to cover in this update. First off, the US Pain Foundation has created an opportunity for individuals to become their state's representative for migraine awareness month. To apply for this opportunity you can go to the US Pain Foundation's website. I recently submitted a proclamation to my governor's office. In addition, in anticipation of Migraine Awareness Month (June), the Migraine Research Foundation, an organization I am an ambassador to, just released a tweet about me and DMT! How exciting is that! The Migraine Research Foundation works to educate people on migraines, raise awareness for migraines, and collect funding for project initiatives to study migraines. You can check them out on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. The MRF is currently advertising their spots in the NYC marathon. For more information you can visit MRF's website. What I've found through this experience is that there is a really negative atmosphere towards living with migraines. By this I mean that a lot of sufferer's are in so much pain that they loose sight of any of the good things in life. Migraines SUCK, but having an optimistic attitude, and a willingness to get involved in the migraine community, can really brighten your day. One of the reasons I love this blog and fundraiser is because I can get involved with the migraine community. Migraines stole a part of my life, but there is now a possibility for me to help others survive them. So get involved, you have nothing to lose.
