Today is June 1st -- the start of Migraine Awareness Month. This month is a worldwide month dedicated to advocating for migraine sufferers. Please take some time this month to support migraine related causes, whether that be through attending walks, or creating your own individual campaign. Migraines are an isolating disease and this month is a time to rally around each other and unify in support of a common cause. Migraines are an extremely underfunded disease, and there is little research about this condition. For such a devastating illness, this is truly cruel. Migraines affect millions of people, and yet the first preventative medication directed towards treating migraines is only in its clinical trials. This month is a time to support the movement for change. I'm asking everyone to please wear purple today in support of the millions of people affected by this debilitating disease. Furthermore, as the proclamation I sent to the governor and the secretary of state was signed (check last blog post), Illinois (and several other states) officially support Migraine Awareness Month. Thank you for supporting the move against migraines!
