Dinner for TOY Nominee $60
Dinner for DCSTA Member $60 (Non Renewing)
Dinner for Nonmember $65 (If you are a nominee's guest and not a DCSTA member (make this choice).
Dinner with DCSTA Renewing Membership $ 70

Next pay for tickets by Friday, TBA using one of the following options:
Option 1: Pay for Tickets through PayPal
Once in PayPal, select the proper fee for the event
Dinner for DCSTA Member (Non-Renewing) $ 60
Dinner for DCSTA Non-Member $65 (If you are a nominee, a nominee's guest and not a DCSTA member - make this choice).
Dinner with DCSTA Renewing Membership $ 70
Enter your full name and school
Then click add to cart - this will open up a PayPal window
You can pay at the PayPal secure site with your credit or debit card from the Add to Cart Button at the bottom of this page.
In addition, please click on the link below, download the Banquet Reservation Form, print, complete, and email back to teachc6@att.net.

Once in Zelle, search by email for payments.dcsta@gmail.com .
It will connect you to the Dade County Science Teachers' Association account.

Please note: The Marriott has contacted us that they would now like a headcount 10 days out. Therefore DCSTA is asking that you complete your reservations no later than noon on
Wednesday, May 7th.
The deadline for paying for reserved tickets is by the end of the day on
Friday, May 9th.

Attention TOY Nominees
2025 Science Teacher of the Year Steps
ELIGIBILITY: Nominees for the awards must be a full-time (majority of the day in direct instruction to students) classroom teacher and be in at least their third year of teaching in Miami-Dade County Schools. Nominees must also attend the Science Teacher of the Year Banquet on May 16, 2025. Previous Science TOY nominees are welcome to apply again, However, previous DCSTA TOY winners are ineligible to apply.
TOY Application Process Information
2025 Nominations are now CLOSED.
Please note: All participating schools must complete the nomination step for their school's Science TOY nominee by Thursday, March 6th.
Step 1: Make sure your school completes your nomination form online at https://forms.gle/xJKf2cvEbZyQbzTu7
Step 2: Nominees will be emailed the 2025 Science Teacher of the Year application as an attachment from mtweedtretired@gamil.com.
Step 3: Complete the application and all packet requirements:
Complete the Science TOY application form using no smaller than a size 10 type size. (Limit your response to the number of pages requested in each section.)
Include principal’s letter of support.
Include two letters of support from other sources (i.e. student, parent, colleague) Note: letters of support can be scanned.
Include a resume (Limit to two pages)
Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
Please note principal's and nominating person's signatures' are no longer needed on the application form.
Please PDF your application and all documents.
Save your application and all documents using your last name, first name, award level ( K-5, 6-8 or 9-12), then name of required document.

Step 4: Upload the completed application, letters of support and resume all as PDF documents on or before April 7th using the google drive folder link emailed to you from mtweedyretired@gmail.com.
Step 5: Stay tuned. A confirmation email from DCSTA will be sent to all nominees and their school's contact person with dinner and awards information after application packet has been received.

Science TOY Application form: If your school nominated you as your school's teacher of the year and you have not received your application, please email Mary Tweedy at mtweedyretired@gmail.com requesting a copy. You will be emailed a copy as an attachment.
