Special Sessions and Events

As part of this year's DASP Meeting, several lunch-hour workshops, special sessions, and touristic events have been arranged.

After-hours tour of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery

When: Wednesday, February 19th, 18:30

Where: Meet at the Crowne Plaza Lobby

Cost: $7.50 for Students, $12.50 for anyone else

We have arranged a special, after-hours, tour of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery for meeting participants. Participants will meet in the Crowne Plaza lobby prior to walking over to the Gallery as a group at 18:35.

SuperDARN Information Session

When: Thursday, February 20th, 12:30 - 13:00

Where: Crowne Plaza Junior Ballroom

Cost: Free

In this session, participants will be given an introduction to SuperDARN, how it works, SuperDARN's role in space physics in Canada, and how the data can be accessed/used. The session is particularly geared toward students but anyone can participate.

CHAIN Data Lunch: How to use it and where to get it, a hands-on workshop (Cancelled)

When: Friday, February 21st, 12:00 - 13:00

Where: Crowne Plaza Junior Ballroom

Cost: Free

In this special workshop, CHAIN team members will walk participants through the use of CHAIN data and their openly available processing tools. Organizers will present a series of examples of CHAIN data processing in IDL and MATLAB, take questions on data use, and provide participants with all of the demonstrated processing tools. Participants are encouraged to bring a personal computer with MATLAB and/or IDL to follow along.

A free catered lunch will be provided to participants, courtesy of the Canadian High Arctic Ionospheric Network.
