Code of Conduct

The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is committed to and responsible for advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in physics. The 2020 DASP Workshop welcomes all delegates and encourages participation from everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity/gender expression, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, physical appearance, race, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, age, political affiliation, educational background, wealth, or health status. We recognize a shared responsibility to create and hold a welcoming environment for the benefit of all. Participation and attendance in this conference implies an acceptance of this code of conduct and any deviation will not be permitted.

Discriminatory, harassing or bullying behavior or action of any kind will not be tolerated, and will result in your removal from the 2020 DASP Workshop (no refund will be provided), notification of appropriate authorities if necessary, and possible ban from future CAP-organized conferences and events. This includes, but is not limited to:

(a) sexual harassment, such as using sexual imagery in a talk, unwelcome sexual attention, unsolicited physical contact, sexual or sexist jokes, and stalking;

(b) intimidation, such as yelling at or threatening speakers verbally or physically;

(c) offensive or demeaning language including inappropriate jokes.

If you experience or witness discrimination at any time during the 2020 DASP Workshop, please immediately inform David Themens (dasp(dot)dpae(at)gmail(dot)com) and call UNB Equity, Diversity, and Human Rights Office at 1-506-458-7256. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. If you are on campus, contact Campus Security by dialing 1-506-453-4830.
