"Any reason for practicing yoga is a good reason. Enhancing flexibility and releasing stress are as noble a purpose for performing yoga as the awakening of spirituality. This is the great gift of yoga – it serves and nourishes us at every level of our being and spontaneously contributes to greater well being in all domains of life. Yoga will help you discover gifts within yourself that have remained unopened since your childhood – gifts of peace, harmony, laughter, and love."
- Drs. Deepak Chopra & David Simon, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga
Darcy Lubbers' yoga classes beautifully integrate the physical, mental, and transformational qualities of yoga. Attention is given to strengthening the body, increasing stamina and flexibility, balancing the emotions, and also calming the mind.
Close attention is paid to alignment, form, and breath. By including breath awareness techniques, the practice of taking full, deep breaths is encouraged, enabling each person to fully connect to their emotions, mind and body, and ultimately to experience a deeper sense of peace and presence.
Dr. Lubbers has been practicing yoga for most of her life, and her practice has been enriched by working with many inspiring teachers through the years. In 2005 she completed her Yoga Teacher certification training with Saul David Raye in Santa Monica, CA.
Dr. Lubbers is available for individual consultation regarding yoga therapy for emotional/ spiritual issues as part of her private practice.
