Darcy Lubbers, MFT, ATR-BC

 


Darcy Lubbers, MFT, PhD(c), ATR-BC has been in private practice for over twenty five years as a marriage and family therapist, clinical art therapist, and somatic psychotherapist in Santa Monica, California.

She has received extensive training in the related modalities of marriage and family therapy, clinical art therapy, clinical hypnosis, guided imagery, voice dialogue process, meditation, structural bodywork (hellerwork), somatic experiencing, focusing oriented therapy, yoga, movement awareness, and mind body medicine, including ayurvedic healing practices.

Ms. Lubbers' background includes teaching and student training on both undergraduate and graduate levels. For ten years she served as a supervisor for clinical art therapy graduate students at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Ms. Lubbers currently supervises postgraduate interns in her private practice, and also offers classes and supervision for bodywork practitioners.
 
Ms. Lubbers has served as a faculty member for the Los Angeles Hellerwork Training. Certified in the Miller approach to clinical hypnosis, she has co-led The Heart of Hypnosis trainings with Emmett Miller, MD in Northern California. Additionally, she has served as a consultant for the Chopra Center for Well Being in Carlsbad, California.  

Ms. Lubbers consulted for over ten years to provide an art therapy program for Bridges to Recovery, a psychological retreat center with locations in Pacific Palisades and Holmby Hills, California, for individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar illness, and trauma-related issues.
 
Additionally Ms. Lubbers has provided treatment services for the B.I.O.S. Integrative Cancer Center in Los Angeles, California, for Renaissance Malibu, a residential addictions recovery retreat center in Malibu, for Clearview residential treatment program in Venice, California, for Psychological Care and Healing, a residential, day, and family treatment center in West Los Angeles, and for My Life Foundation in West Los Angeles which provides innovative services for individuals with special needs.
  
Darcy Lubbers is also the founder of Magic of Healing, which offers workshops in holistic mind/body healing, preventive medicine and the expressive arts, both for the public and for health professionals. She teaches a variety of workshops, which include The Magic of Healing, Creating Health, Primordial Sound Meditation, Creative Pathways, and the Art and Soul Workshop.
