Course Description: Introduction to e-learning design and development, including project management, instructional analyses and strategies, software selection, and evaluation. Interactive multimedia development applications, processes, and principles. Design and production of technology-enhanced instruction.
Reflection: This course had one of the signature assignments of designing my own online course. It put the course readings into perspective because I had to think critically about what I wanted how I want to measure the course objectives. The readings also taught me that the way to design assessments is determined by what time of objective is being tested. On top of designing a course I learned several constructivist activities.
Objective Development: For each learning objective from the online course, I had to decide what activities would be appropriate for students to perform. This was a beneficial activity because it mirrored, William Horton's strategy from E-Learning by Design. Horton believes assessments should be designed first, to know what activities and learning objectives shape the course.
Online Course: The course website was designed for a third grade ELA intervention group. Learning objectives were edited to show a create, do, or connect outcome. Student activities incorporated collaboration and media. Practice resources were analyzed and selected based on the idea of representing multiple learning styles.
