Rain pit-a-patting
pinning patterns
to window screens
a Lite-Brite
with colorless pegs
dimming my world
Opaque gray sky
one horizon to the next
boxed in
no escaping
rainy day blues
Damp wind battles
bedraggles my hair
brisk walk to car
leaves me wet at the neck
lonely to my bones
I long for spring walks
sunshine kisses
Brilliant summer skies
lazy shade-cooled evenings
Sweater wrapped mornings
copper orange autumn afternoons
All promise more
than this heavy, gray winter day.
