Facing Water
smoke swirls
laughing eyes
crinkled cocoa face
fish at her feet
bitter competitor
silently glares
sunburnt face
no fish today
fog thickly grips
a quarter mile out
soft white face
form diminishing
black eyed child
caramel skin
pretty face
gawks at my bike
holding hands
stiff, forced
sad faces
dying love
I smile
but meet
blank faces
so I greet dogs
bitter breeze bites
my cheeks
cold hot face
pink with sun
dazzling light
dances
on water’s face
my life shimmers
