On Wednesday, Septemer 10, 2025, the Civil War Roundtable of the Merrimack celebrated its 30th anniversary with special guest, Bob Kilham.
We began with an assortment of sandwiches, salads and other delicious items.
Abount 8 o'clock, we acknowledged Art Ober and Liz Hallett, two faithful charter members, who still attend and are active members of the group.
Tom DiGiuseppi, who's currently in a rehab facility, was missed and all hope some day he may perhaps return to a meeting.
Liz Hallett explained the Civil War historic significamce of the "Vacant Chair," a song originally with Massachusetts origins where those missing around the table, a Vacant Chair, where remembered. This was our way this night to remember past members who are no longer with us. "We shall meet, but we shall miss him. There will be one vacant chair..."
On the eve of 9-11 Remebrance, a moment of silent was held to remember both old firends from the CWRTM and 9-11 victims.
But the modd picked up when we then welcomed Bob Kilham, who performed, entertained, and eductaed the group on Civil War music.
A huge surpirse was the spontaneous appearance of local musician, E J Ouellette and his fiddle! E J accompanied Bob on a few songs and the evening became even more special!
At the conclusion of the performance, members shared in a 30th Anniversarty cake and socializing before the party broke up for the night.
This page features images of this most remarkable evening.
The CWRT of the Merrimack wishes to thank all who came out for this special night.
