ABOUT US

We are the Civil War Roundtable of the Merrimack, founded in 1995 in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and named for the local Merrimack River, as so many armies of the Civil War were named for local rivers.

Currently we meet at the Hilton Center on Rte1 in Salisbury.

Feel free to contact us: cwrtm1861@gmail.com

Corresponding Secretary: cwrtmsecretary@gmail.com

We meet the second Wednesday of each month except for July and December at 7:30pm. Meetings are usually over about 9pm or slightly after.

Our purpose is to promote the education of the historic era known as the American Civil War. We host meetings to discuss and learn about all aspects of this time including battles, technology, personalities, and other similar themes.

Although our meetings are open to the public, we do ask if you have attended three meetings, that you make a personal decision to join our group as we use the monies earned from due to pay our expenses such as rent, for programs, and for helping in preservation of Civil War sites and artifacts.
