Dinesh Katre has served as a member of Research Recognition Committee and PhD Selection Board for the Symbiosis International University and MIT World Peace University for the faculty of Design. He has also served in the PhD evaluation committees at IIT Guwahati, IIIT Hyderabad. He has been a member of the Board of Studies for User Experience Design programmes at SID, MIT ATD. He was on the syllabus review committee for UX design programme of NID Bangalore. He has guided several ME and B Tech engineering students from Gujarat Technology University, Amity University and BITS, who worked on technological challenges in the field of digital preservation. He has guided several MDes and BDes students from IIT Guwahati, IIT Mumbai and SID. He was also a local guide for a PhD scholar from IDC, IIT Mumbai.
