This section is for anything not of the "norm", including Investigation, Customization and Adaptation.
Firstly lets look at the 4th NPC in the Trade District...
The Investigator
This is the Investigators sign
This is where you bring "leftovers" to be identified, and turned into usable items.
Simply click on the Investigator NPC, then right click the leftover and it will be transferred to the right window.
Then click identify and you will get a random item of the power specified on the leftovers.
Customization
This is the Customization Bench (found at the Metal working station).
You can add more of what you already have in your weapon and more.
Here I am adding a wooden cube to my Boomerang to give it more damage (Dmg) and Health (HP). See your Weapons panel.
Simply click the cube you want to add, then click on the weapon. Hold middle mouse button and move the mouse to rotate the view.
You can also add some "Spirit Cubes" dropped from Boss or Rare mobs. Below is a list of all the current Spirit Cubes and their effects.

Adaptation
An Adaptation building, found in the Adventurers District.
Here is the adaption GUI window
Adapting an item can either bring the power / level up or down.
So here, we see a bow that is power 10. But if you are power 20 then it may be too low level to be of use to you.
With Adapting, you can bring it up to your power / level, in exchange for Platinum Coins dropped only by Boss mobs at Quest Markers (crossed swords on map).
