Why did you decide to pursue a career in librarianship?

The LIS community embodies everything I believe in. We work towards positive change, spread information rather than suppress it, believe in community, and want to help in any way we can. We are an incredible robust, fulfilling field that makes significant impacts in society. I love our community-centered mindset and how our education is applicable to so many different professions and industries. We ignite passion in ourselves and try to help others find their passions too.

What do you enjoy most about being a Catholic University student?

I didn’t realize the importance of location until I started at Catholic University. Being four metro stops away from the National Mall, home to the Smithsonian and the Library of Congress, gives Catholic University students an incredible advantage in the information community. The LIS students here have incredible stories about the places they’ve visit and worked for in the information community.

What do you enjoy most about being an AGLISS officer?

I want to be actively engaged in my program and help to cause positive change in my community of information lovers. AGLISS gives me the opportunity to engage and change!
