The BYU Math Department is sponsoring (with some support from the MAA) a website called http://WhenWillIUseMath.com

We hope this will be useful to college faculty, high school teachers, parents, and others trying to help students understand how important math is in real life. The goal of the site is not necessarily to encourage students to become math majors, but rather to help jr. high, high school, and college students understand that math is extremely useful even if they want to be a lawyer or a doctor or a stock broker or something else.
