Title: Reconstructing Smooth Curves from Discrete Samples Using the Crust
Speaker: David Skocic, Cleveland State University
Abstract: The crust is an algorithm to reconstruct a curve from a discrete set of points sampled from a smooth curve. This algorithm depends on a few foundational discrete geometric tools—including Delaunay triangulations and Voronoi diagrams—that are applied across many fields. These tools and the crust are surveyed, and efficient algorithms for them are indicated, as time allows.
Pizza and beverages will be provided.
