Troop 110 is a Boy Scouts of America (BSA) troop based in southwest Colorado Springs. We are chartered by the Cheyenne Mountain Elementary (CME) School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), within the Ute District of the Pathway to the Rockies Council.
All boys and girls that want to be scouts are welcome in our troop; please contact us or come to a meeting if you have an interest. We believe that Scouting is a privilege and an honor. Our goal is to help boys and girls develop to become good citizens and effective leaders, while they have fun and expand their knowledge of, and appreciation for, the great outdoors.
Our Scoutmaster, scouts, and adult leaders encourage behaviors consistent with the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Living the law, or occasionally experiencing the consequences of failing to live up to its tenants, is an essential element of character development.
We are a scout-led troop, and we embrace the patrol method. We have an active Patrol Leader Council (PLC) that guides the troop’s plans and activities. Patrol and senior patrol leadership is elected every six months, and scouts normally serve six months as an assistant before taking over a lead elected position.
We love our outings, and Colorado offers a wealth of great opportunities. We normally have at least one outing monthly, and they include winter sports, camporees, rafting, canoeing, backpacking, mountain-climbing, and biking. Most of our scouts also attend a summer camp. Please check the Calendar section for upcoming outings.
In addition to school, many of our scouts are active in organized sports, music, and/or other extra-curricular activities. As such, we limit our troop meetings to two per month, typically held from 6:00 – 7:30 PM on the first and third/fourth (depending on availability of the school) Mondays of the month. We hold Merit Badge or Rank Advancement meetings the Seond Monday of the month.
As of March 2024, Troop 110 has 40 registered scouts and 18 registered adult leaders. between the boys and girls troops. We have a good number of scouts who have a parent in the military.
Safety is critical to us. All adults who participate on our overnight outings must have completed Youth Protection training. Our Scoutmaster, assistant scoutmasters, and troop committee members have completed basic and job-specific training in accordance with BSA guidelines.
Please join us to enjoy the benefits of Scouting.
