PARTICIPATION: Participation scores will be graded based on the first discussion forum on the class website.   Discussions will need minimally 2 orginal posts and two replies for a passing score.  Discussion posts are limited to the videos and powerpoints linked to the site, and should be substantiative (not a simple description ) but demonstrate some critical thinking and/or an insight you gained ). Replies should also be substantative and not simply agreeing.

Critical thinking:   Potentially addresses  one of these three  points: 1.  Causes or consequences of the situation. 2. Similar or dissimilar situations. 3.  what group is benefitting from the situation.

Further discussion is optional and ungraded.

PARTICIPATION:

You should also post at least TWO messages to the discussion board. Further discussion is optional and ungraded.

GRADING:

Grades will assigned according to standard criteria from A to D- and F. Students who drop are responsible to officially withdraw, otherwise they risk getting an F instead of W.
