Organized Religion
With there being so many religions in existence, and an increasing number of “New Age” and “alternative” groups you can join, there is concern that some can get involved with some Organized Religion (OR).
The following should help people address this concern:
The apparent way to avoid getting involved with OR is ensuring you do not join any religious, “New Age,” or “alternative,” group. This, however, is similar to a woman who, after a bad romance, decides never to date men to avoid another bad experience. Solving her problem, she ensures she is deprived of any future good experience with men.
How do you reduce chances of joining a wrong group?
Fortunately, there exist several indicators screaming at you. In addition, your approach can be on physical, mental, and emotional levels.
Let us deal with the mental and emotional levels first. Upon getting involved with a stranger or group, you can pray for assistance. For example, request “protection” against those who wish to disable you or get you involved with any OR, or negative group's activity. Such a protection request ensures these people will discover getting your interest difficult.
You can seek guidance to people who work with God and his forces AND away from those who are not. Pray that negative forces wishing you ill are countered even before you meet them in the physical world. Saying a prayer does not ensure you will never make a judgment error, as these also occur as learning experiences.
Fortunately, should you make a poor choice, your protection request will help in reducing experience intensity and duration. Remember, you can initiate physical actions and approaches to avoid being involved with wrong groups.
Fortunately, ORs have certain indicators and characteristics that make it easy for you to identify them. Once recognized, you can find an authentic person or a group.
Questions:
An “OR” does NOT like people asking questions.
Naturally! OR is concerned that you can unearth being deceived in some fashion. OR also prefers you to just sit back “following orders.” OR's other concern is that your asking questions reveals how little they really know.
Mind Control:
An “OR” does NOT want people learning about “psychic protection” and mind control possibility.
ORs often suggest psychic attack and mind control, either does not exist, or even if it does, you need not worry. People knowing about such things make life difficult for ORs.
Empowerment:
An “OR” does NOT want its members gaining power. OR wants you to believe that its group can “do it for you”. This, of course, is untrue. Spiritual growth comes from your own doing. People may suggest approaches you might consider assisting you on your journey but at the end of the day, the following is a reasonable maxim: “If it’s going to bethen it’s up to you.”
Ceremonies:
An “OR” will often place an importance on ceremonies and rituals.
These influence you to believe you are “achieving something.” Often, you are just going “through the motions” and at the end of the day, little is achieved.
Secrecy:
An “OR” will often pretend it has some “secret” knowledge.
This appeals to your need to be “chosen,” “important” etc. Often this “secret” knowledge can be obtained in books. Obviously, ORs dislike your reading books!
Classes and Activities:
An “OR” wants you and potential followers to be as “open” to their instructions as possible.
Long fasting, taking drugs, and drinking (before activities) is designed to destroy your physical, mental, and psychic level defenses.
Isolation:
An “OR” dislikes outsider influences undoing their programming.
ORs will physically attempt to separate you and potential followers from others, for a brief or a prolonged period. Feel concerned if it is suggested you go somewhere without disclosing destination and location!Reading:
An “OR” does NOT want it is followers reading others opinions
ORs like you to believe only what they teach as this greatly assists brainwashing.
Appeal to authority:
An “OR” pretends its leader is “special.”
Beware of leaders who say they have messages from God and avatars. Be even extra careful if they say their leader is GOD himself or an avatar
A possible variation on this is someone suggesting he is communicating with an “advanced,” “ascended” spirit guide.
Should that person be truly communicating with an advanced being then you need not be told this as you can instantly infer from information provided.
The “message” is important and not the messenger.
A genuine spiritual leader should be more knowledgeable, humble and not egotistical, unselfish and devoid of the need to be the center of attention.
Recruitment:
An “OR” often wants to recruit “members.”
Beware of groups where recruitment is the chief focused activity. Remember, a positive group attracts through its work, achievements, and its ideals. This obviates overt encouragement and persuasion need.
