It is imperative that you are aware of the actual System practices. Beginning with self-alignment with the Usui System of Reiki, observe if you are drawn to a non-Usui System processes.
What is it that attracts you? This is a starting point. Remember that it is not to change the System when it becomes uncomfortable but, instead, using this System’s still point to shift your perspective to align with the next development steps.
Understand the importance wisely of choosing a "Master." Although, it is the order of the day, a Master’s basic purpose is not to teach but to heal -self and others. The classes form out Master’s own practice and willingness to surrender himself to Reiki life energy’s will and guidance. There is no need to advertise or coerce people to embrace Reiki. As healers, organize classes for selected Masters prior to identifying one to learn from.
As this learning process is not on a physical level, continue to examine your motivations consistently. Also, remember that in organizing REIKI classes you build a people support system comprising counselors who offer regular healing time.
Since the Reiki tradition is to further self-discovery and all-level development and not teaching, motivation to become a Master for spreading Reiki teaching is invalid.
The Usui System catalyzes the student’s physical entity with set boundaries, to align with the System form itself. Until now, each student has remained aligned with h/er Master, who, in turn, carries the System's teachings onwards adding perceived interpretations and practices.
A natural system order is fast emerging from the confusing teaching practices aggregation. This order calls upon each student to surrender to the System form only. Although, this is not negating loyalties or relationship with a Master, it does call for a common allegiance so that the relationship with a Master is not misinterpreted as a hierarchical relationship. Personal loyalty must not supersede surrender to the System. As a person approaches the System, the System answers questions within the inquisitor 's understanding structure. As the understanding grows over time, the answers lead on to the next question – as is the way of all paths.
In the Usui System, the beginner is initiated in a First Degree Class with h/er individual background and understanding depths. As practice grows, the student deliberates to explore deeper into the Self-relationship through the Usui System practice; to embark upon the next journey stage - the Second Degree - a learning gift to use symbols to open unseen Self aspects doorways.
"I want to be a Master." The question echoes in the student's mind and body seeking determination. Someone asks, "What motivates you to take this step?" As there is no single answer, there are several answers based on assumptions and selfish desire fulfillment. These, arise from an inner calling to push students into taking the first step. Much depends on self-knowledge depths and the question: "What can I do to further Reiki growth?"

Usui System of Reiki Master Initiation and Practices
This also means that as a Master you are committed to:
¨ practice the system without conscious and willful changes; and,
¨ Surrender to the system and community that holds this essence within its energetic body.
Take your time. Find a Master to accompany you part of the way and then go to another . When you are honest about your process, the service understanding is inherent within the relationship. Find the one who is not necessarily "in your backyard" but one who will serve you. Choose not out of loyalty to a Master but only toward yourself.
Readiness: There are many moments of readiness. Often Masters are initiated at the first glimpse of this energy. Be willing to wait for more. Money is one indication. Another is the commitment to this practice at the Master student level. The commitment to surrender to the System for physical and other level support is important. Present confused commitment levels will begin to clear after Master initiation.
As you embark on a most important journey it is the initiating Master’s job to ensure you are fully prepared to accept the "higher care standard" required to function as a Master within your relationships the community.
The preparation path is a never-ending one as the magical, continuous wondrous journey speeds up after initiation. As in all momentous steps, Center's advice is "Be prepared." You cannot imagine what life as a Master is like as it is beyond your imagination. You have to live and experience it.
Receiving a Master attunement is not for the faint-hearted as it is a pioneering step that takes you into a special world, a way of living that, we humans have completely forgotten. We can read books about it; talk to others about it; and, have our judgments about "What we will do differently if we were Masters!" The operative word here is "about." Drop all things concerning doing. Build your experience foundation; understand the experiences; and always remain a beginner. Draining all misconceptions create a void instead to be filled - not by your mind, but by a completeness. When filled, Readiness will be at hand. Allow it to mature and ripen after the Master Initiation.
What does this mean for you? It means that you are ready and willing to let go all commitments and agreements you hold with yourself and others.
This letting go of the obvious linear ones includes the beliefs by which you, as an individual, make choices to set priorities. As you take decisions - it is not what you end up doing that is important but how the decision determined the path quality. Physical commitments, emotional beliefs, spiritual practices, and communities are covered in this letting go process.
Holding on hampers and confuses the Usui System practice. Cultivate relationships that serve your path and complement peer relationships. Address money issues to have the $10,000.00 U.S. ready for the initiating Master. The Reiki Community has created a false and deficient economy as new Masters are initiated for less than $10,000 US; and many Masters even making deferred payments. Payment schedules take energy, time, and more money to track payments and especially people who do not meet their own agreements.
Select a Master to accompany you on this soul journey with care and self- knowledge, as you can never "get rid" of this person in your life. This Master must be committed to the System and you must trust this commitment. What happens if suddenly the Master decides to drop h/er Usui System practice?
