The customizable Quick Access Toolbar contains a set of commands that are independent of the currently displayed tab on the ribbon. You can move the Quick Access Toolbar from one of the two possible locations, and you can add buttons that represent commands to the Quick Access Toolbar.
To help identify the command, a more descriptive tooltip name may appear next to the legacy command name in this form like Formulas (Paste Formula) or Values (Paste Values)
There is a known quirk/bug in the Ribbon implementation in that when an icon from the drop down menu in the top-left of the menu bar, next to Home, is promoted into the Quick Access Toolbar dynamically, the Image may not render until the ribbon state is restored on the next app launch. This includes Open, New, Save, Print etc.
On the ribbon, select the appropriate tab or group to display the command that you want to add to the Quick Access Toolbar.
Right-click the command, and then select Add to Quick Access Toolbar on the shortcut menu.
The added command is now always available whichever tab is selected.
Right-click the command you want to remove from the Quick Access Toolbar.
Select Delete team trash can button Remove from Quick Access Toolbar on the shortcut menu.
You can move the location of the Quick Access Toolbar from one location to another.
Right-click the Quick Access Toolbar.
In the list, select Show Quick Access Toolbar Below the Ribbon or Show Quick Access Toolbar Above the Ribbon.
