Installation
The latest version of CryptoCrack can be downloaded from the button below. This will download the CryptoCrack setup program to your default download folder.Â
Once downloaded:
Locate and double-click the .exe file.
If the Microsoft Defender SmartScreen appears click 'More Info'. This will show Application: CryptoCrack.exe and Publisher: Unknown publisher and reveal the 'Run anyway' button.
Click 'Run anyway' to install.
This will install the program from raw.githubusercontent.com which is where the program setup files are held.
Once installed CryptoCrack will appear in the Windows 10 Start Menu from where it can be run.
Before running the program download the data files containing the dictionary files and language files from the links below.

* Note: If the above link doesn't work it can be downloaded at CryptoCrack v3.2.7. Once installed the later version can be installed using the Support - Check for Updates option in CryptoCrack.
Setup
Create a new folder called CryptoCrack on your hard drive. The CryptoCrack folder will contain the Language and Dictionary folders and should be located wherever you normally store your document files such as "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\CryptoCrack\..". They can be installed on another drive if you prefer.
If you want to solve only English language ciphers then download the English_Dictionary_and_Data.zip file then unzip the files and place the folders in the CryptoCrack folder on your hard drive. Your folder structure should now look like this...

If you want to solve English and non-English language ciphers download the All_Languages_Dictionary_and_Data.zip files then unzip the files and place the folders in the CryptoCrack folder on your hard drive. The folder structure should look like this...

CryptoCrack is now ready to run. The location of the language and dictionary folders will need to be setup in the Options window in CryptoCrack (Tools -> Options) before you can use CryptoCrack.

Additional Word Frequency Order Lists - Existing users only
To improve the word breaks routine new data files for each language have been created which list words in order of their frequency. These files need to be installed manually and can be downloaded from the links below. These are only needed for existing users. New users will find the required files included in the Dictionary and Data files in the Downloads section above.
Each file contains words for the relevant language in their order of frequency. Do not re-sort or change these files as the position of each word in the list indicates their frequency.
To install the Word Frequency Order files click one of the buttons below to download the appropriate file(s).
If you only intend to solve English language ciphers download the English_Only_Word_Frequency_File.zip file. Otherwise download the All_Languages_Word_Frequency_File.zip file.
Once downloaded
Locate the downloaded file and extract the file(s). These are all named <language>WordFreqOrder.txt.
These should be added to the files in the individual language folders as shown opposite e.g. move the file EnglishWordFreqOrder.txt to the "...\CryptoCrack\Language\English\.." folder the GermanWordFreqOrder.txt to the "...\CryptoCrack\Language\German\.." folder and so on.

Uninstall CryptoCrack
CryptoCrack can be uninstalled from the Windows Start Menu.
In addition to these any language data files and dictionary files installed should be deleted.
