Spring Campout

Cadet Campout - Spring 2012

When: May 11 and 12, 2012 (Friday & Saturday)

Where: Bow Willow Campground, Anza-Borrego Desert

Address: 32°50'35''N 116°13'38''W (31.4 miles South on S2 from the 78 junction)

Who: All Crossroads Cadet Club cadets and their dads!

Departure Time: 3:15PM on Friday (5/11)

Departure Place: Calvin Christian Elementary School Parking Lot

Return Time: 4:30PM on Saturday (5/12)

Return Place: Calvin Christian Elementary School Parking Lot

What to bring:

• Bring a good flashlight. It’s very dark in the mud caves!

• Do not bring electronics (iTouch, iPod, etc.). Cell phones are OK but should be used only for emergencies.

• Sleeping bag and pillow (a sleeping pad is also nice if you have one)

• Warm clothes including a warm jacket! It can still get cold at night in the desert.

• Change of clothes (just in case they get wet, etc.)

• Tent (some tents will also be provided and/or shared between cadets)

• Hiking boots (sturdy shoes are acceptable).

• Hat and sunscreen

• Fold-up chair (optional). We will sit around the fire at night.

Food, drinks, water and all the necessary cooking supplies will be provided.

• While at the Mud Caves, we will keep especially close track of all the cadets. They will all receive emergency whistles to use in case they get lost (which should not happen, but just in case).
