Dear Brooklyn
Written by Crag Jensen
I know- what I feel – no way to deny it
And I know it’s real - so why try to hide it.
Sometimes I feel I really get it
What my life’s all about
And other days I just want to forget it
I just wanna get out and lose my, lose my self in –
Brooklyn, sweet Brooklyn – I was lost but know I’m found.
In Brooklyn, dear Brooklyn – you gotta love this town.
It takes time to unwind when I finally get home
A little wine, sometimes, warms the chill in my bones.
Sometimes I get stuck in the middle –I wanna scream, wanna shout.
Other times I get lost in a riddle and I just wanna get out and lose my, lose myself in –
Brooklyn, sweet Brooklyn – but watch the people, hear the sounds
In Brooklyn, dear S Brooklyn – picks me up when I’m feelin’ down.
Yesterday I was all alone
When I got a call on my new cell phone
Hit the button and I said hello
Then heard a voice I that didn’t know
It was a lady from the bank with a French accent askin’ me ‘bout some money they’d lent.
Said sorry mam – it’s gonna take some time so step right up and stand in line
I said goodbye then clicked off the phone while headin’down the cobblestone
Breathed in the air and took in view I had nothin’ say not much to do in –
Brooklyn, sweet Brooklyn – I was lost but know I’m found
In Brooklyn, dear Brooklyn – you gotta love this town.
Brooklyn, sweet Brooklyn – but watch the people, hear the sounds
In Brooklyn, dear S Brooklyn – picks me up when I’m feelin’ down.
