Derek Leadbeater's model of the

school

The model of Copthorne school which is featured on this web page was built by Derek Leadbeater who attended Copthorne from 1960 to 1964. It was two years in the making. Derek had only a few photographs to help him, he was however able to obtain side and top elevation plans and an aerial photograph of the school from the city's records office. Given that photographs of the school are remarkably lacking, especially of the hostel block, the model is a tremendous help to re-visualising what the school was like.

All reproduction rights, of course, remain with Derek.
