Let's Talk Crafts
Our 2023 Craft Fair is set. Many applications have been sent, if you have not received your application please email us and we will forward you an application within 24 hours!
OUR FIRST APPLICATION
We received word today. January 9, 2023, The Town of Collins Library will be setting up at the craft show. A library, you ask? Yes indeed! The library is the place to go for all types of ventures and adventures; from book clubs to Lego Club to crafting of every type from very young to very old!
While the parents are busy shopping, visiting, and browsing, the children will be busy making their own crafts. We will have more information on this year's project as an actual schedule is in place.
We will also be writing articles and exhibiting photos of the crafter/vendors who will be participating in this year's festival. The articles and photos will be found here first, and will then be shared on social media.
SPONSORS
Who are our sponsors and what exactly do they do? As those faithful attendees will tell you, each year our fundraising efforts are supplemented by our Fundraising Basket Raffles. Nearly every vendor/crafter donates an item to the basket raffle, we also receive several donations from local and national companies.
Where do these excess funds go? Now that we have a museum, money is spent on acquisitions, should we locate an article pertinent to our history, that someone is selling, a much larger amount of money is spent on the preservation of these items. Much of what we have for display or research are paper files that have been donated. Unfortunately, paper articles must go through preservation processes at a greater rate than other items. At times, the best we can do is seal the papers against the environment and handling of the articles and painstakingly copy (by hand) what each article relays so that persons who need the information for a research project will still have access.
Who are our Craft Festival Sponsors?
To date (and please realize that the Craft Festival is still 4 months in the future) we have two sponsors.
Our first Sponsor wishes to remain anonymous, but we can tell you a bit about the prize. The prize is a "One Size fits Most" cuddly, white bathrobe which comes boxed. These were sold at Walgreens over the Christmas Holiday season and sold for $25. We will attempt to get more information concerning the robe and write up a brief article about the prize. These articles will start appearing in February.
Our second Sponsor has gone above and beyond with their promised raffle item. The Sponsor is
Let's Roam
This company specializes in scavenger hunts, and they have promised a Bachelorette Scavenger Hunt valued at $700. We can't wait to get all of the information to complete an article on this!
