DR. W. R. GOLEY WILL MOVE TO. HIGH POINT. "Dr. W. R. Goley has sold his resi dence here to Mr. Edwin Scott and will move the early part of next week (30th November, 1914) with his family to High Point where he has purchase a nice home. This announcement will be read with sincere regret by many friends here and elsewhere in the county. For twenty years Graham has been, the home of Dr. Goley and Alamance has been been his home all his life. In the Southern part of the county he had a good pratice before locating here and ever since he has lived here he has enjoy a good practice. The skill, attention and fidelity in his excellent qualities of citizenship which have won for Dr. Goley a high place professionally and as a citizen will be his best assets in his new home. While his going is sincerely regretted he carried with him best wishes for future success. - Alamance Gleaner. - The Dispatch Wishes Dr. Goley sucess in his new field. ____

Wood Cemetery is (or was) located in section 22 of Clay Township in Harrison County, approximately one mile south of the village of Akron and near the Akron Cemetery. Nothing remains to identify its exact location. There is only one known burial.

Dr. Alexander Fairley Goley ’52, of Burlington, N.C., died Aug. 24. He was born July 7, 1930, in Graham, N.C. He was the son of Dr. Willard Coe Goley and Eugenia Fairley Goley who are both deceased. His grandparents were Dr. William Rankin Goley and Louisa Coe Goley of Alamance County. He was a graduate of Graham High School, Davidson, and the UNC School of Medicine.

It is known definitely that the Virginia-Carolina branch of the Bransons, from whom the Missouri Bransons appear to have stemmed, were etablished in America early in the 1700's. Thomas Branson is recorded as having arrived from England in 1703, and some students of Branson genealogy believe that an Absalom Branson was in Virginia before 1700. Arrival of two brothers, Eli and Levi Branson, possibly adding another branch to the family tree, places Bransons as settlers on the James River in Virginia about 1760. Some members of the present generation of Bransons believe this Levi and Eli to be the sons of Thomas; others do not agree that this is the same Levi and Eli. The names appear often in the family tree that it is difficult to establish exact identities and lineage.
Ruben S. Branson, for whom Branson, Missouri is named, a Branson is mention in 1837 Letter to Polly from Orlando Wood.

In July of 1988 Mr. W.C. Roney of Burlington, NC past away from several years of illness and poor health, after a life-time of hard work in the trucking and moving business. He was married to Mary Ada McPherson for over 54 years and was the father of four sons, two who were employees of his Trucking and Moving business. His second oldest son G.W., was managing his moving and storage business for many years and love to save and collect items which a lot of people would think of as junk or trash. Through the years one man's trash would and some times be a treasure or of scrape value, a lot of people would discard items without knowing or caring their true value.
I would often, when able help in their business and am knowledgeable in computers and good at online stuff and now work full time for a local company in the records and billing department near Graham and live not far just east of there. One day, G.W. and his brother, contacted me and ask about some items saved from the trash dump and collected when people they moved gave them or did noted wanted, stuff like old letters, books, photos and old furniture. We call the items "The Wood Family Archive", made up from several families collections of old letters, documents, statements, bills and if any photos and or albums, which we want to protect and preserve for future research by all families that are of relations. We are uploading as much of them as time will allow and enjoy sharing them for everyone to learn and hope will share any information on any of them and that maybe some historic or missing family information will be found to fill any gaps to their ancestry.
So the items shared are all at one time misplaced, not of value thrown out or just unknown of by any family member and the pasting of time and movements of people through the years, and deaths, were lost and now is found and by sharing them here we hope all who would have a interest in them came gain some knowledge and benefit for their personal family history and treasure the value of their safe keeping. Please help with sharing any comments or knowledge of any (person)s with connections, to families here mention, we seek out who they were and where they lived. It is a interesting history lesson of our past, and the country being built by people who work hard, prayed and fought for a better nation, that we all now enjoy.
