Polly Wood
Who is "Polly Wood" of New Salem, Randolph County, North Carolina, born abt. 1810 to (I am guessing) Col. John Wood b.1780 and Eleanor "Nella" Walker Wood b. 1775. In the 1830 Census for Randolph County, NC page 58a, a John Wood is listed with being between 40 and 50 years of age, (years of birth 1780 to 1790) and also in household a 20 to 30 year old male, (1800 to 1810) year of birth. Four Females are listed the oldest mostly likely the wife (and I guess this to be) Eleanor "Nella" Walker Wood, her age shown as 50 to 60 years, (1770-1780) other records have her as being born 1775. A young girl listed as between 5 and 10 years of age, maybe Martitia, who would be 6 years old born in 1824. Two females listed as between ages of 15 and 20, one who could be Sybil, who was born in 1814 and the other unknown, who? Is she "Polly", can anyone help with knowledge of any information about her, was she ever married, student and had a family? Seven members of household was listed, a 10 to 20 year old male Slave was also listed with family. On Home page is the 1830 Census where I found the before information on household person listed, the head of household is named, but all other members are not and I am only guessing as to them in this information here shown. If anyone could forward any comments or information about the "Wood Family", "Polly" or "Orlando" Wood, please do so. Thanks
