I use my random orbit sander all the time, so I made a simple bracket to keep it within reach. There were two fun things that this small project allowed me to try:
I used a profile gauge to find the shape of the sander. I pressed it against the handle of the sander to capture the shape, and then put the gauge of the scanner to bring it into the computer. I then traced it in Autodesk Graphic, and imported it into Fusion 360.
The second fun thing is I used a 45 degree bit in the CNC to make a chamfer that allows gravity to prevent the sander from slipping out of the holder.
