For a gift to a family member who does a lot of sewing, I created a holder for a set of pattern weight discs. The weights themselves were made of a couple large metal washers wrapped with various colors of ribbon. (The weights are used to hold down a sewing pattern when planning out/cutting a design).
The main body of the holder was 3D printed in white, and a cover piece was printed in red. The two end caps were cut on the CNC and screwed into the main body. All parts were modeled in Fusion 360 as a complete assembly, and I exported STLs for 3D printing and used the built-in CAM to export the tool paths for the CNC.
Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the final product before giving it away, but I have the following renders of the design:
And here is what it looked like with the cover removed (it was printed in PLA, and being relatively thin and slotted, it would flex to allow pulling it on and off easily):
