Figuration Adjustments to Garment Patterns may be needed for both the Body Shape of Individual Customers as found in Bespoke Tailoring as featured in the photo above.
In this case the alterations may be made during the 'Fitting Process' utilising Inlays left for this purpose.
The Cutter who normally would take the Customer's Measurements would be expected to observe the Body Needs and make allowances during the Cutting of the Fabric from the Pattern or During making the Individual's Pattern Draft
Some of the Indicated Adjustments may also be used to provide the Best Fitting Garments over a Range of Sizes and Figurations as offered in a Ready To Wear Range typified in this Diagram of German Men's Sizes.
In this case the Pattern Cutter would make the adjustments when producing the Block or Master Pattern Size for each Fitting Range prior to the Pattern Grading Process.
For instance, working from a Regular Fit 'A' shape, the Short Fitting 'C' person would tend to look up and therefore need to have a slightly Shorter Back and slightly Longer Front Balance due to their Upright Stance.
Equally the Tall Fitting or 'B' person would tend to Stoop or Look Down needing a slightly Longer Back and Shorter Front Balance. etc.
