James Albert Clark paintings

The paintings of James Albert Clark (1863-1955) are often confused with those of his father James Clark (1812-1884), particularly since they often worked as a team, signing paintings James Clark and Son.  See the Signature Examples page for comparison. James Albert Clark's signature leans slightly back to the left, while James Clark's signature leans slightly forward to the right. Any painting signed J L Clark or dated before about 1875 would be the work of James Clark senior.
