Religions with origins in the desert (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) traditionally looked down on the spiritual paths of India and Africa with their origins in the forests. Could it be that it is not “their” souls that need saved but ours--from the unreal “other worlds” of doctrine, heaven and hell and the mind’s endless conversation with itself? Isn’t it time we returned to this world, this Earth of here and now, the body and the drumbeat of the heart?
