Emerging Technology Research Presentation
[GOAL]
- The goal of this assignment is to conduct research on an emerging technology and create a video presentation.
[TOPIC]
- The topic should represent an emerging technology or technological issue facing an organization. (need to specify a technology and an organization/business/industry)
- Topics may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Cloud Computing, Blockchain, Digital Health, Digital Ethics, Security Technology, Self-Driving Technology, Mobile Commerce Technologies, Employee Monitoring Technologies and Issues, RFID and Business, Smart Grid, Machine Learning Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Fintech, Metaverse, Enterprise Resource Planning, Knowledge Management and Systems, Supply Chain Management and Systems, Business Intelligence Systems, Customer Relationship Management and Systems, E-Collaboration Systems, Expert Systems, Big Data, Sharing Economy Platforms, Data Mining and so on.
[ROLE]
- As an employee, you have been asked by your manager to research an emerging technology or technological issue and present your findings.
[AUDIENCE]
- Your boss and other business executives
[SITUATION]
- Imagine that your boss learned a little about a new technology or technological issue and thinks your company should look into it more; thus, you are tasked with researching and presenting your findings back to management.
[PRODUCT]
- You will create a video presentation based on your research on the emerging technology.
-- Length: 8-10 minutes (10-15 slides)
-- Content: It should include:
Introduction that outlines the presentation
Overview of the emerging technology (e.g., definition, how it works, advantages, and disadvantages)
Introduction to the organization/industry
Impact of the emerging technology on the organization/industry
Analysis of Opportunities (or Benefits - at least two or more)
Analysis of Pitfalls (or Challenges - at least two or more) and Tactics to Overcome the pitfalls/challenges
Recommendations
Conclusion
Citations and References (APA format; in-line citations for at least four (4) highly relevant references on the last slide - 2 scholarly and 2 non-scholarly)
