Course Description
This course conveys the insights and knowledge students need to become knowledgeable and active participants in information technology/systems decisions. Learning outcomes help managers begin to form a point of view of how information technology/systems will help, hinder, and create opportunities for their organizations. The course intends to provide a solid foundation of basic concepts relevant to using and managing information.
Required Text and Supplies (Tentative)
Managing and Using Information Systems: A Strategic Approach (8th Edition), Pearlson, Saunders, and Galletta (2024), Wiley, ISBN: 978-1-394-21549-2 (Less expensive e-texts are available) -- You must get the correct version/edition of the book in order to have the correct review and case questions. Previous versions have different review and case questions. -- Required text
Physical access to a reliable computer with a reliable/stable high-speed internet connection (Chrome Web Browser recommended)
Software required: MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, etc. (more to be announced if needed)
