I wanted a 1/8 rally car in the worst way, but when I started this project, 1/8 brushless vehicles in general were few and far between. The only commercial option would have been to stick a rally body on a 1/8 road car chassis, and that just wasn't good enough. So I picked up an Ofna Ravager 1/8 nitro buggy roller for about $70 and went to work. The buggy got torn down and all the parts cleaned. I ended up replacing all three diffs and pretty much all the plastic except for the wing mount, which is now the rear body mount. Nylon spacers were inserted inside the shock tubes to lower the suspension for a proper rally stance. The Fiegao 1400KV can is held on with a RC-Monster mount. The ESC is a Hobbyking 100A unit that isn't flashy, but gets the job done on 3S or 4S lipo. The tires and wheels are both Ofna, and were the most realistic "rally" setup I could find at the time. The shell is a pre-painted affair from some German rallygame site. It was hellishly expensive after shipping, but my options were seriously limited. This is definitely my favorite parking-lot ride.
