Listening

“When in conversation, do you listen, or do you just wait to talk?” - Pulp Fiction

Listening....when others talk are you fully there listening to their words? If so, how often? Many people have ideas pop up in their head and act as if they are listening as a politeness but are patiently waiting to speak what has come up in their minds as soon as you stop talking....it would seem thoughts may be building up in a sort of mental queue in the mind here. Sometimes it may seem painful or boring to listen to someone (ie: Boss at work). Here is some TED talks about listening from Julian Treasure that explores communication:

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” ― Leo Buscaglia
