The Chemistry program RCR option:
1) Is mandatory for all graduate students in Chemistry degree programs
2) Consists of classroom sessions led by Chemistry or LAIS faculty
3) Requires students to write personal ethics statements
4) Includes an annual RCR-related presentation as part of the seminar series required of all students
Students in interdisciplinary degree programs only need to complete RCR training if they are supported at any time in their graduate career through the National Science Foundation (NSF) or the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as research assistants, hourly employees or fellowship awardees. This requirement is in addition to all other institutional and program requirements described in the appropriate program sections of this catalog. These students should consult the catalog for ways to complete the requirement.

By whatever means chosen, the NSF/NIH-RCR requirement must be completed prior to a candidate submitting the Degree Audit form. Students and advisors certify successful completion of the RCR requirement on the Degree Audit form.
